Founded in 2006, Byzantion Records & Music Shows has become one of the pioneers of alternative music and contemporary art in Turkey. With a wide range of activities, including music festivals, a record label, concert organization, and media content production, the company stands out for its commitment to original projects and inclusive approach.

Byzantion Records & Music Shows was established through the collective efforts of musicians and organizers who have been active in Turkey's underground music scene for many years. Embracing the do-it-yourself (DIY) ethos, the company has organized more than 100 concerts featuring local and international acts, provided stage opportunities for countless music groups, and carried out various media projects, including video productions and live performances. It has also curated two notable exhibitions: the photography exhibition "Kadrajdaki Ritimler" (Rhythms in the Frame) and "Karışık Kaset" (Mixed Tape), which showcased illustrations by 40 artists inspired by music culture. Additionally, the company has supported independent artists and brands by creating spaces for ceramic workshops, tattoo and gastronomy events, and fanzine tables.

One of the company’s greatest achievements is Byzantion Fest, which has been held annually for 12 years. More than just a music event, the festival serves as a unique platform that brings together independent artists, music groups, and collectives. A milestone for the festival was the 2013 edition on Burgazada, which hosted over 3,000 attendees.

The company’s mission is to support the alternative music and art scene in Turkey, leave a strong cultural legacy for future generations, and help local music groups gain recognition on the international stage.

Our future goals include transforming Byzantion Fest into an international event, evolving into a strong media organization that provides content for music groups and independent artists, and creating an inclusive cultural space.
